Flex Fuel Sensor Wiring

Post by Raymond_B »

In the manual it shows the instructions below:

Should it not say to use sensor ground (signal return)? I thought all sensors used sensor ground? Is there something different abut this one?

Flex puts out a digital signal so any ground offset should have no impact. What is the current draw on the flex sensor? If very small then it would be ok to share the sensor ground.

I can repair or upgrade Megasquirts in UK. http://www.jamesmurrayengineering.co.uk

Ah OK, I cannot find the datasheet, but it is the common Continental/GM 13577379.

Okay, I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my MS3X but I am getting 5V OUT of the flex line. Can anyone confirm whether or not it should have any voltage coming from the MS3X pin 5?

The Flex pin has a built-in pull-up resistor to 5v; the flex sensor itself grounds this pull-up, giving a signal the processor can recognise.
