What's my wheel/trigger setting?

Post by rmoehle »

Hey all,
Help appreciated - I'm running a 2001 Suzuki Swift 1.3L with coil-on-plug. It looks like a 36-2-2-2, but running this selection I'm getting sync errors on every tooth. The cam has two teeth at 90 degrees.
Also tried wasted COP with no success.
What do I put for Ignition Settings/Wheel decoder?
Attaching images from the engine manual with waveforms and pics.
Thanks!

Can you post those pictures in an easier to use format? I've tried scrolling around in various ways but am unable to see what is there.

Ignore the above. I tried one more trick and was able to see them. Those are still clumsy for me to see well, but I can see that the CKP wheel is too weird for me to help any. I don't suppose you want to convert to a simple missing-tooth wheel, like 36-1?

Record and attach a composite log. Attach your MSQ.

That ought to be supported as 36-2-2-2

Composite log is mostly blank. Occasionally I get a crank tooth reading with a sync loss for every tooth, but never cam or trigger. Tried wasted COP to circumvent cam; didn't work. I'm baffled.

Is the two-tooth cam at 90deg compatible? The manual reads like only a single tooth cam works with 36-2-2-2..

Thanks

Tooth log and MSQ attached. Could not upload composite log because there's no data in it. Teeth only show on one of the frames in TS/MLV (no idea if this is related, real or a sw quirk).
Using 36-2-2-2. I think it should show RPMs with just primary tach (crank), cam being optional. But, my RPMs are intermittent at best.
Help appreciated!
