Megasquirt power relay box

Post by Jwright650 »

I have been searching for a wiring diagram for the relay panel that I purchased from diyautotune. Can anyone point me in a direction to get me started? TIA

After lots of googling, I found a little info about the board online. Not sure why the mfg couldn't simply include that info in the box with the product. Pretty frustrating having to dig through the internet with a slow connection to find info. Albeit, I am not very Google savy which adds to my frustration. Thanks for the help.

Do you mean the "Relay Board" or something else?

That is covered in the Hardware manuals e.g.http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/MS2 ... .4-16.html

Thanks James, that is it. I need to figure out now what wires from the MS3 need to go through this and which ones can go directly from the MS3 to the sensors. I hope the relay is heavy enough for the fuel pumps, it "looks" pretty light, but maybe the contacts in there will be Okay.

I gotta say... that Relay Board was only intended for the MS1 and is of limited usefulness with your MS3. If this is a new install, you may want to re-consider if it is what you want to use.

Depends on the pump, that's not something I'd be happy with "looks OK". The pic shows 40A relays, but I cannot imagine that little PCB could handle that much amperage.

I used the relay board on one install. I soldered directly to the pcb for the relay connections and just used the relays and there fuses.

Thanks guys, I may save it for another project. I'm trying to get my 70 camaro with 89 TPI with Viper T-56 running on the MS3 N/A. Its currently running on the 89 factory computer. I have the factory relays and thinking about reusing them for the MS3. I have a 7875 from VS waiting to get this thing running and tuned N/A first.

If you have a factory EFI loom for your engine that is OK for your car (length wise etc) it can make sense to use that as a basis for your MS one. It's what I do with Rover V8 engines.
