Ethanol/Flex Fuel/E85/E54/E10 users, feedbacks with 1.5.1?
With prior firmwares, there was an issue with the reading of ethanol percentage, it will spike and drop for not apparent reason. This can be dangerous to someone's engine when MS add timing/subtract fuel where it shouldn't be using auto e85 correction.
The new smoothing is in firmware 1.5.1, would someone with an ethanol sensor in their car please datalog and upload their MSL so we can get some feedbacks to see if the reading of ethanol percentage has stabilized?
Thanks.

Haven't noticed anything like this so far on Ms3. Am using it for 2 months with a GM style sensor. Currently on 1.5b6, haven't updated to 1.5.1 yet. Eth% varies by +-.25% max usually.
Only issue I have is that it indicates about 2% too much ethanol, but I think this is most likely down to sensor calibration.
Example log with E10 attached.

The new smoothing first appeared in pre-1.5.1 beta 5.Dennis_Zx7r wrote:Haven't noticed anything like this so far on Ms3. Am using it for 2 months with a GM style sensor. Currently on 1.5b6,

Sorry, forgot something there. It's 1.5.1 b6, so it should have the new smoothing.jsmcortina wrote:The new smoothing first appeared in pre-1.5.1 beta 5.Dennis_Zx7r wrote:Haven't noticed anything like this so far on Ms3. Am using it for 2 months with a GM style sensor. Currently on 1.5b6,

This is something that I have been complaining about for a long time.
I have an MS2, just wondering if there has been adjustment to the MS2 code to account for this?

I've had really clean ethanol% signal for a while now, not sure i can even blame it on the smoothing added in the new firmware. I've seen the opposite too, forcing me to not run with the sensor active. But this last year the sensor and firmware worked flawlessly. I'll upload logs when I get to my computer. I switched to gas a couple times when I got too low on fuel to make it to the e85 station. The computer compensated perfectly and everything worked as it should. I'm extremely pleased with how seamless it has become.
