I am running a ms3 with a 36-1 on crank and a single tooth with cam sensor mounted on my dry sump pump.
It all works well, but the idea was that if I lost the belt of the pump the engine would stop.
Not so, it will just keep running even at 8500rpm
Is there a ignition setting that will work for me to stop engine or dose it just need cam sensor for starting?
Engine runs without cam signal

with a missing tooth wheel the cam signal is only used to sync up after that its not used again until you need to re sync. i think a non missing wheel would work the way you expect it ie engine will cut out without the cam signal

Don't mess with a simple, reliable 36-1 that is already in place, use an oil-pressure switch/sensor. Also, that will protect you from oil-pressure failure from any reason, those addition to just the belt.
