Hello all,
I am having a lot of loss sync in my Miata. So much so that it doesn't let the engine run long at all. I replaced both the cam and crank sensors with original parts. I looked in the log file and it says it is reason 32 and sometimes 31. Im not sure what that means or what to do to fix it. I ran a composite log and it seemed normal.
My current setup is a 93 Miata with a 03 1.8L Miata engine swapped into it.
Attached are the logs and the tune file.
Thanks!

This may be a case of the cam trigger slipping - they're not positively locked into place on the cam.

How would I go about testing/fixing that?Matt Cramer wrote:This may be a case of the cam trigger slipping - they're not positively locked into place on the cam.

Ok, so I reloaded the base plug and play map for the MS3 PNP and it seemed to make the cam and crank log look better. However it is still giving me sync loss and just making the engine unstable and not start.
(the board file uploader is acting weird so I uploaded the files here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b19bfsvctysmc ... q.zip?dl=0 )

Re: MS3 Lost Sync (Reason 32)
So im noticing that I get a sync loss during cranking right as the cylinder ignites.
Also, I looked at the composite while it did this and I noticed that there is a sync pulse where i dont think a sync should be. I attache the screenshot and data log below.
