Key on prime/ cranking no pump/ tach & sync ok

Post by GDP »

Hello,

First thank you for any help you can provide, this is an MS3 v3.0 Chevy V8 with an HEI8, basic trigger, spark B for bypass, using the led's d16 and d14, singal coil, rising edge capture.

My problem is no ground to the fuel pump relay when cranking, key on primes no problem, my tach reads about 120-130 rpm, I have done both trigger logs and composite logs both look good, i have used my scope to check tech signal of my ignition module and I have a clean square wave, which it should as I have no sync loss and tech rpm, pump comes on in output test mode, I even tried older firmware 1.3.4 as I have that running on two cars for years now, I'll be going back to 1.5.1, anyway this is like my seventh MS and have never had a problem like this.

I've tried many things to diagnose this and rarely ask for help, I'm at a loss, oh and this is crazy, if I put my stim on and run the ground wire to the fp pin, I can run the rpm as low as 50 and the pump will stay on, but I have rpm with the dizzy and no sync loss.

James thank you for the reply, I didn't think it was flood clear mode cause I usually calibrate my sensor first but I double checked and that's fine, meaning it's not in flood clear.

I have a question though, is it possible to have tach signal & sync on my TS dash but maybe not good enough for the ms3 card?

Anyway I have a microsquirt card laying around so I think I'm going try it out, but I won't be able to get to the car for a few days, if anyone has any ideas of what's going on any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you

So problem solved, I'm a little embarrassed though to my defense I'm use a digital fuel pressure gauge for the first time, so my problem was that there was no problem, I'm using an autometer fuel pressure gauge for the first time and when cranking the gauge just stops moving so I though I had no fuel pressure, anyway I plugged the injectors in and if fired right up and runs nice, thank you for your help.
