limit for the amount of sensors on 5 Vref ?

Post by Yves »

Is there a limit to the amount of 5Vref sensors that can be connected to the ecu ? I already have a fair amount of them connected and since I'm making some corrections to my intake manifold I was considering adding 8 maps (one for each cyl). I intend to use the maps to properly balance each cylinders air flow. (ITB's btw)

You need to keep the current below the maximum of the regulator, but also remembering the power it will need to dissipate at that current.

Thanks James, but I might have missed what the current rating is. Do you know ?

The part is shown as a LM2937ET-5.0 on the V3.0 hardware schematic, if this matches what you've got it is upto 500mA.
Please note this is a total amount for the whole ECU, not just what is available to external devices on 5v Vref.
