Adding fuel pressure to my MS 2 extra
I have enough gauges in my car, so I am trying to tie in a autometer 3 pronged sending unit into my megasquirt to make sure I'm not losing fuel pressure on the top end(as I'm going lean). Using the MS for this is my best option as then I could correlate fp in relationship to other things happening in my engine.
I have MS2 extra. 3,57 board I think. Who could tie this in for me as IF it is more than connecting a waire to an input it's probably above my soldering pay-grade.
Thanks
Chris

You can certainly monitor/log data from a sensor like that:

You need to add components as shown in the manual: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2 ... m#addgauge. And with the 3.57 board, you will need to be creative how you add this to the board since there is no proto area.
So it does involve more than just wiring in a new input.

You will also need a custom ini. for Tunerstudio so a fuel pressure gauge will show up in your gauge selection and be logged to MLV.
If you post this question in the Tunerstudio section with the specs for the sensor, Phil will probably send you a custom ini. for this.

We can add the hardware. Please email us at sales@symtechlabs.com if you're interested.nufnuffz28 wrote:Thanks for the replies. Is there anyone that can do this for me?

Re: Adding fuel pressure to my MS 2 extra
Symtech sent me a custom ini for my fp gauge which will now show. Now my boost gauge is lost(patched in to allow it to show psi last year)
The .ini they sent doesn't look like the one I added the boost gauge into last year, so I don't know where to put the boost gauge information.
When I put the old .ini back in there neither one works(boost of fuel psi)
Can anyone help please?
nufnuffz28@yahoo if you can.
Thanks

Whew......
Couple hours of work and two computers later I have a boost and fp gauge!
Hopefully it will work well with my new sending unit and wiring

it would be nice if you explained how you fixed it. Might help someone else with the same problem.

What I did was unfortunately, start over. I reinstalled a fresh version of tuner studios and then just added in my project.
At that point I copied the .ini that symtech sent me and copied it where my old one used to be.
Then everything worked as far as gauges go.
Sadly, not that it is all hooked up the fuel pressure gauge shows 23 psi whether the car is running or not. At a loss again.

Re: Adding fuel pressure to my MS 2 extra
Any ideas on why my FP gauge shows 23 psi at all times?
Re: Adding fuel pressure to my MS 2 extra
I realize this is an old thread, but it would be helpful to see the ini file you ended up with.

You don't need a custom ini. any more. Just use the custom gauge wizard in Tunerstudio.
