Programmable Output x4 setup

Post by ddog »

Hi guys, I need some help in understanding how to wire up programmable out puts on the V3.0 PCB(MS2) as I am trying to go full stand alone and need to create spare outputs for two fans and two VRIS solenoids (MX6 V6). I already have the 4 MK-RelayCtrl Kits to wire it to the PCB.
I plan to use the ACCEL LED, WARMUP LED, IAC1 and Knock Sensor for the "spare outputs" as Both the FIDLE and IAC2 outputs were already used from following Diyautotune MX6/Probe guide.

I have been using the MSEXTRA, Megamanual and DIYautotune site to try and understand the spare outputs and I am still a bit confused on it. Below is an example of me using the WARMUP LED circuit as a programmable output. Can someone please give me some guidance on this

Using the WARMUP LED circuit for FAN1:
Input side - BASE on transistor connects to top of R27 or U1 with inline 1kohm resistor.
Output side -COLLECTOR can connect to SPR 2/3/4
Ground - EMITTER connects to proto area ground
* diode is connected externally from the PCB on the coil side of relay

On the output side does it matter which DB37 pinouts (SPR1-4 or IAC1/2A-B) ,you connect it to once it does not conflict with any other existing in use circuits?

Also from the above example do I need to remove R27 or just jumper to it?

You got it. Although the diode can also be on the main board. We have a picture of what the mod looks like here:

Right - as long as you know what wire you're using and don't try to make the pin pull double duty, you'll be fine.

No.

Thank you for the response Matt.

I have been looking at the relay contolkit setup on DIYautotune for wiring up the diode internally. It says the diode goes to 12V source 0n D9. Do I connect the diode to any 12V source on the board?

S12 might be the best point to connect it to.

Thanks again, found the 12v points of supplies on Msextra manual:

12v on left side of U5
12v on S12 underneath R57
12v on S12c under Q11

S12 is a better one for flyback as it is upstream of D10.

I created one ciruit so far connected to S12c, will remedy this.

Would connecting all four diodes from the 4 additional circuits to S12 cause any problems? I have the same question for the ground connections as I was also planning to split the four ground connections of the circuits between the two proto area grounds.
