LS1 Jimstim Tunerstudio issues MS2 V3

Post by 5.3LS10 »

So I have been working with a couple other issues and have not narrowed down this issue yet. I worked with Jean and James and was able to update the wheel pattern on the V2.0.3 jimstim to include the correct wheel pattern for the LS-1 but unfortunately I still get no tach input in tunerstudio. I will put a scope on it in a couple hours. Below is the tooth logger and the msq file.

Let me know if there is anything you want me to test/try or if I missed a very simple setting somewhere.

Thanks,
Shane

Which DIP switches are set on the JimStim? This is a 36-1 pattern so you clearly don't have selected the correct one. You need switches #3 and #6 set to ON and all the others to OFF. You also need to disconnect the serial cable and associated jumpers.

You are correct i don't know how I missed that  I have changed the jumpers but still no RPM. I have tried adjusting the two resistors R52 and R56 but I do not notice a big difference in the tooth logger. I believe turn both pots all the way counter clockwise (~12 turns) and then R56 clockwise.

Thanks

Can you take a composite log instead of the tooth log? It makes it much easier to see the pattern.

You need to set your ignition input capture to "Rising Edge"; you now have it to "Falling Edge" which is wrong. Also, you have your output set to going low which may well be wrong depending on your setup. And why are you using JS10 and not D14 for spark A? You had to change all of these because the default values are the correct ones and work immediately on the JimStim (in addition to being what is needed on the car).
