MSnSe MS1 3.0 Crane Optical input and Coil output
Putting together my MS1 v3.0 board using the Mega Manual and going to run BIP coil drivers with the Crane optical sensor as my crank sensor (in the dizzy still) and I followed the manual through the hall/opto isolator step... 53 I think is were I left off.
My question is when I go to my crane install doc
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/Diz ... ane_v3.htm
and the MS-Extra build manual
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/build_manual.htm
The steps are way different.
So do jumper xg1 to xg2 AND tachselect?
And Optoin to Tsel?
or did I jump the gun and install a bunch of stuff that I need to take off?

Use the MS1 manual setup and not the MS2 setup.

Thanks!
So I'll just follow this: http://www.megamanual.com/index.html
And add in this: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/Diz ... ane_v3.htm

No, do not use that manual as it doesn't apply to MS1/Extra.cwdodson88 wrote:So I'll just follow this: http://www.megamanual.com/index.html
The MS1 board assembly is detailed in the Assembly index group at the top of the manual index
http://www.msextra.com/doc/index.html
Yes.And add in this: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/Diz ... ane_v3.htm

Re: MSnSe MS1 3.0 Crane Optical input and Coil output
I'm wondering were to pull 12v from to make this circuit:
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/Diz ... ane_v3.htm
or if I can use a 5v from the proto area to go where that 510ohm jumper is into the opto in...
does that make sense?
So instead of a 510 resistor, I'd just use a direct jumper from the 5v source...

Re: MSnSe MS1 3.0 Crane Optical input and Coil output
So I ran a jumper with a 510ohm resistor from SC12 to SPR4 to run my opto sensor. So any thoughts on if this will work or not?

Re: MSnSe MS1 3.0 Crane Optical input and Coil output
I jumped from sc12 to spr4 with a 1/2 510ohm resistor and checked the voltage at the spr4 and it's 12v, how did I get that wrong? Can I just wire my 5volt sensor off the proto and call it good?
