Injector Driver Question, Must pins 32+33 be connected

Post by mooney »

On the DB37 connector, Pins 32 & 33 are for Injector Bank "A" and 34 & 35 are for Injector Bank "B". I have no problem with this.
My question is, are both pins 32 AND 33 required for driving an injector on Bank "A" or would the injector(s) fire( just fine if only the wire from pin 33 was connected (as opposed to both 32 AND 33).

I ask because a friend is diagnosing a rough running issue and does not have continuity to pin 32 from the injector plug, but DOES have continuity to pin 33.

Those pins are connected together internal to the MS, on the mainboard; two pins for each injector output to lessen current on each pin. However, one pin should be enough, I doubt that is your problem.

I wholeheartedly concur.

Just to add to the discussion, I would be looking very closely at the soldering related to that pin (at the DB 37).

I am the friend that mooney is referring to. I found that the wire going into pin 32 on the db37 connector has popped out, which is why I am not getting continuity on that pin. I will need to extract the pin from the connector, recrimp it onto the wire (or get new pin) and reinsert it into the connector. I am hoping this solves some of my issues.
