Flashing Megasquirt II daughter board ms2extra 3.3.2 loader

Post by salibalaw »

I have a Megasquirt 2 with the applicable daughterboard, and I'm using a JimStim. Computer runs Windows 7. When attempting to flash with msextra (via bluetooth adapter, using COM 7), the program finds the hardware, notes that it is in boot jumper mode, asks if I want to install the correct firmware, and then...returns an error message "cannot open COM 7". Any ideas?? Also, my setup is for a Rover 3.9 V8, running a Ford EDIS setup. I'm using the DIYElectronics optical sensor w/trigger wheel. I DID NOT install Q12, Q9 or Q16, if that makes a difference.

What happens if you try a serial port or USB adapter instead of Bluetooth?

FWIW......... I have never had good success installing firmware using bluetooth! I would steer clear of it!

I used the DIYAutotune.com serial to USB adapter and cable. Flashed perfectly!! Now, I'm trying to get TunerStudio MS to find the firmware...it finds the controller, but does not recognize that the board has been flashed.

Make sure that you removed the boot jumper.
