ms3 4age 16v

Post by wannabe2 »

Hello,

I am assembling a MS3 base v3.0 for my 4age 16v VAST with 4/1 teeth CAS. I followed a mix of the MS3 base manual, http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/vast.htm and, http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_article ... ta_mr2.htm Option C.

After the basic MS3 setup from the base manual and then configuring it for VAST, I am a bit confused.

In http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/vast.htm it says to:
- Jumper from IGBTOUT to one of the +5V holes in the proto area with a 220 Ohms, 1/4 watt resistor. This creates the 5 Volt pull up circuit on the output.

In http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_article ... ta_mr2.htm Option C it says to:
- The ignition output goes out on pin 36, here's a difference though, you DO NOT need a 5v pullup on the ignition output with the MS-II as it has this pullup built-in.

Which one do I follow?
If it is bulit-in do I just need to change a settings in Tunerstudio?

For an MS3 processor use MS3 documentation, following MS2 documentation may lead you astray.

Frustrating,

I do not see anything on vast in the MS3 manual.

Any ideas to point me in the right direction?

Well, I see that the ignitor want a signal going high to low to trigger, you haven't mentioned whether you are using the MS3X card or planning on wiring it up on D14. For the D14 approach I'd use the pullup circuit.
