Trigger wheel/EDIS wiring to relay board MS3X

I suggested that back in November in the MS3 New Documentation Discussion and was ignored. Glad to see you have had a change of heart. I know it isn't something you recommend but that doesn't mean it isn't being used for simplicity sake. It can/does cause additional confusion when you want to run an MS3x card though.

Nobody else has suggested it, so it has hardly seemed like any kind of priority. Certainly no vendors have mentioned it.

That sounds weird. Every PDF viewer I've used has search - Acrobat, evince and even the one built into TunerStudio. I searched online and saw screenshots of users searching in 'Preview' but I don't have a Mac, so can't report first hand.

I use a mac as my primary firmware dev machine. With the preview that's included in 10.10, I have no trouble searching. I just use command F, and type in what I want to search for.

interesting I can use the search as well the result finds nothing. I am using Yosemite on my Mac.

So to continue the clarification of some of the previous things I have setup see the statement below:

"It is important to be aware that while Ford EDIS and GM DIS both have special toothed wheels, the
module handles all the decoding and presents a signal to the Megasquirt that looks like a distributor
input. With these two modules, the Megasquirt does not know or care how many teeth are actually on the
wheel, so do not use the "toothed wheel" setting. This also means that normally you cannot use
sequential fuel with these systems as no engine position information is available to the Megasquirt."

So if I have a CAM INPUT and EDIS with sequential injection will this work correctly or should I remove the sequential injection?

I don't see how that can work since EDIS only sends a tach signal to MS - ie no crank position information.

It is treated much like a dual sync distributor, using the cam signal to tell which PIP pulse is which.

Ah - right. Is there any advantage with this? I'd have thought it better to have a spot on timing signal from a crank trigger wheel?

I'm asking because I may well go sequential injection later this year.

6.7.6 Optional cam sensor

Megasquirt-3 supports a cam sensor with EDIS for sequential fuel. A single tooth at cam speed is required, this
should pass the sensor before the engine reaches TDC #1 compression.
