Hmmmm...... ~8-9 years of MS'ing and I've never run across this issue!

Could you post a picture (or 2) of the connectors?

These are standard DB37s - there should be connecting bolts to screw from one connector to another.
Temporarily shut down - back soon!

With due respect.......

I would agree if we were connecting a plain vanilla DB37 plug to the MS, but we are dealing with the right angle, pcb mounted DB37, on the stim board.
Not a practical matter IMO.

Ken

EDIT: None the less, I suspect that something is awry with the OP's installation, prompting me to ask for a picture.

Since they are both chassis connectors, both have threads for the standard fixing screws. If you never intend fitting a cable connector to the Stim, you could drill out the threads in the Stim and use screws robbed from a line plug, etc. They are an odd size, so may not be easy to get on their own. But they will be awkward to tighten.

But if I'm working on an MS and want to leave the Stim connected, I made up a short loom to go between them, and the plugs of course have locking screws. Saves the chance of strain on the PCBs if continually turning over, etc.

thanks guys, ill see if i can snap a pic tonight.

So I can get it attached and it connects to the MS3 but doesnt want to stay put. I would screw it together but can't get a screw in the side where the knobs are. is there a trick to that?

Are you missing the metal surrounds from the connectors perhaps? That would make for a loose fit.

I have a Megasquirt or two setup on my bench with the stim plugged in at all times. Even with the weight of wires and test probes pulling it down, it still works fine. If it really troubles you, perhaps put a ball of paper or card under the stim to prop it up?

maybe i'm missing something. it's not that it troubles me, but while tuning i have to hold the stim with one hand and type and use the mouse with the other. Sort of a pain in the ass.

Yeah, that's not right at all.

Precisely my original thought and the reason I suggested a picture earlier.
