Re: No RPM, No RPM
Anybody there....has everybody given up on me...Help.
I rechecked my Jimstim and it is working fine.
I can't get an RPM signal in TunerStudio. I turned those dam pots in every direction. I can make the Lost Sync Counter gauge go crazy fast, but still no RPM on the gauge. I have the DIPs 3, 5, 6, 7 to ON, as per the JimStim website http://www.jbperf.com/JimStim/JimStim_v ... .html#tach for a Gen 3 Hemi (NGC 36-1+1 ).
I don't have an engine to try this on.
I am completely stumped at this point, I am not a semi-conductor guy and this is all new to me.

Re: No RPM, No RPM
The composite log looks good for the crank but does not show the cam. Try turning off all noise filtering.

Re: No RPM, No RPM
All noise filtering is OFF.
If the crank is showing good how come the RPM gauge is not showing RPM?
Don't forget that I am testing using the JimStim.
I believe to see the cam signal I have to jump it for secondary tach and use the R11 and R32 on the Xpansion board. I have not done that yet. I am trying one step at a time.
Here is an updated log.

Re: No RPM, No RPM
Ok, that would explain the lack of cam sensor signal. Try swapping Ignition Input Capture and see if that gets RPM.

I tried that too, still no RPM.
Can i introduce an outside source for a crank signal and how?

Re: No RPM, No RPM
For testing purposes, what happens if you set the MS3 and the JimStim for 36-1?

Re: No RPM, No RPM
I ran the basic 36-1 to test and it did work, some what erratic but at least I was able see RPM in TunerStudio.
My JimStim now has a burnt CPU from trying all kinds of configurations.
This is why I asked if an outside source can be sent to the MS3x to give an RPM signal to see in TS.

I use a slave wheels mounted on a small electric motor, I fabricate them from 11 gauge (.120") sheet steel in whatever pattern I want to play with.
