I have good voltages, my db9 cable passes loopback testing. also the cpu socket pins 12 and 13 loopback test passes. i have the baud rate set down to 9600 and when i try to load firmware file Monitor_v2.920.abs.s19 i get an error message: ERROR: Timed out reading response, 0xE0
Elapsed time: 14.22 seconds. I have the bootloader jumper installed on the daughterboard.
any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Re: step 40 - trouble loading firmware
There's a mismatch between the firmware and the baud rate you are using. MS2 requires 115200 only.
Also consider installing the current MS2/Extra firmware from the Downloads page.

Re: step 40 - trouble loading firmware
THANK YOU! You have solved it. I was confused with which hardware i have. I now have the ms3 firmware loaded.
The BLUE board is ms2, the WHITE board is what makes it an ms3, and the small GREEN board with ribbon cables is what makes it an ms3x ?correct?
i have been following directions for assembling ms2 because i cant find a ms3 assembly guide. Now i am questioning what i did in a previous step: 22. Now you need to make a decision on the first 'optional' component: if you are going to use an IAC stepper motor with MegaSquirt-II, you must install a jumper from the hole marked S12C to the hole marked JS9 (+12C). These are on the bottom side of the board, on the DB9 side of the processor. DO NOT INSTALL THIS JUMPER FOR NON-MegaSquirt-II APPLICATIONS - IT WILL DESTROY THE PROCESSOR!!
Should i remove that jumper?
Thank you
