I have an older Ford ECU that I need to remove the Gray connector from for use with MS3-Pro DIY-BOB.
The gray connector is attached to the ICB via 60 pins.
I have an iron & wick, but it seems that this will be a daunting task.
What recommendations do you have for disconnecting this connector from the board ?

Re: OEM ECU Connector Removal
Do you want to save that board? If not, you could cut the board between each pin with a thin abrasive disk and remove the little pieces of the PCB one-by-one. Or try heating the solder-side of all pins at once with a propane torch while pulling/prying on the connector.

Re: OEM ECU Connector Removal
The torch did the trick, quickly, neatly, and with a lot less heat than I expected.
I'll be posting pics in near future.
Thank you for the quick feedback

Re: OEM ECU Connector Removal
I picked up a cheapo Harbor Freight heat gun, I find it easier than a torch and I don't get the nasty fumes.
