No spark output on C

Post by mythbuster74 »

ms2 extra 3.3.3
v3.57 board
wasted spark 5.3 lm7
FET driver method (4 channels)

I've been testing my ms2 in my car today and yesterday, at first spark D wasn't working and then it did. After confirming that all spark outputs were working for one bank I decided to go around and make sure I had the right cylinders paired together in my wiring.

A... worked
B... worked
C.......... nothing
D... worked

I'm also getting a "page 3 burn error" while burning the test mode. I've checked continuity from the coilpack connector all the way to the FET output and it seems to be good. The middle LED also flashes which from looking around seems to be correct. I'm thinking it has something to do with the burn error, or maybe a short on the paired cylinder with C (never checked that).

Also just a small question, does the crank position sensor on the ls motors have to be shielded? I don't think it was stock but I only get a rpm signal for a second when cranking and then it goes away (I know this should be in a separate post but just a quick question)

Thanks guys

Don't use Burn on test mode.

In case this happens to anyone else, I checked the soldering and I accidentally soldered 2 legs together because the chips are so small.

Easily done. The V3 board with through hole components is easier for DIY mods.
