ignition help for a LS2

Post by rick evans »

Need a little help with a MegaSquirt V3.0 MS3X for a Gen III Chevy LS2 motor. the motor is distributorless and utilizes a 24x reluctor wheel (hall Sensor) and a single coil per cylinder.

Step 65 - setting up the high-current ignition driver circuit. --- Is there a way to utilize the onboard BIP373 coil driver chip or do I need to use a separate ignition module, such as a GM HEI 7 or 8 pin module to drive the 8 individual coils?

Sounds like you are reading an obsolete manual.

Click on Manuals above and go from there. The 24x setup is documented.

Thanks for the reply, I was using a different MS3 assembly guide from megamanual.com. Using the guide from MSextra detailed the ignition setup better.

I believe the latest wiring diagram for LS1 engines has a typo. the crank sensor signal wire just ends near pin21. I ended up running it to pin24.

Yes, that's a graphical cut/paste error. Tach-in is most certainly pin 24.
