Hi all.
I'm a newbie to this.
I currently have a 1990 Mx5 turbo that was running a piggyback ecu. My car is now away getting a Diypnp installed but the tuner has been having no end of problems with it. Apparently it runs sometimes then other times it wont. It blows ignitor modules etc... and wont always connect to a laptop. Anybody on here have any idea on what it could be? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Can you get the installer to join here and post directly? That way there will be no problems or delay caused by getting second-hand info. If the installer won't participate... then you need to find a different installer. In that case, post your location or look at the "find a tuner" thread. As always:


Edit: How about DIYautotune, have you been in contact with them directly?

Please also post data logs - they will show how the tune is working in the real world, as well as whether sensors are reading correctly, etc.

I took car back from tuner after almost 4 months. I have had some one trying to help me online, we updated firmware and added a new msq file. The ecu connects fine to tunerstudio but goes offline when in car so cant do tps setting or get it to do anything for that matter. If I try to crank the car it goes online. Any suggestions?

Please be sure it has 12V power and 5V on VREF when on the car.
