No spark on EFG and H for MS3X

Post by TZ_BENZ »

I'm currently building a MS3X system for a Mercedes V8. I've installed a 36-1 wheel on the crank with the intention of running wasted spark and semi-sequential injection. I am using 8 x LS2 coils. My firing order is 15486372. I have all 8 coils hooked to the 8 outputs from MS3x board. In test mode, I am getting spark on coils 154and8 (correlating to SPARK ABC and D). I have it configured as wasted spark. I get no spark on plugs 637 and 2 (SPARK EFG and H). I've also tried the wasted COP option with same results.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

Wasted spark will correctly fire four outputs only.

Wasted-COP should do what you want - did you Burn, then turn the ECU off then on after making that setting change?

I think you are correct. It dawned on me about midnight that I probably did not burn the tune and do a power cycle when I tried wasted COP. I guess the wasted spark is for a true wasted spark application such as EDIS.

Thanks

Well, I fixed my setting. Finished testing. Put in my baseline tune. Turned the key and the car immediately started and dropped into a beautiful smooth 900RPM idle. Runs better in all RPM ranges than it did before. No surging. No hesitation. Loving it.
