MS2 V3.0 Direct coil assemble "Not RPM Synced"

Post by R.Rodrigues »

Hi, Im new at the forum and having some issues assembling my MS2 V3.0, will be using it for my classic mini k1200 conversion.

I start assembling MS many months ago and then stooped, the plan was to use edis, now I can´t see why using edis if I can just run on MS-E.
So now the plan is change the bord to use extra code and run direct coil.

The problem was that I never finish the assembly, and missing all the jumpers and probably install to many components, and now things are getting a bit confused.

So far I have jumper from:
VRIN to TACHSELECT
IGBTOUT to IGN
IGBTIN to JS10
Jumper on D2

Have installed BIP373 instead of VP921

Will be using direct coil (ford), VR sensor(36/1 wheel), TPS, 4 injectors

I think I missing other BIP373, for Spark B, and have not install any of the 330ohm resistors. As for BIP373 I will try to find it locally.

you car correct you will need a second bip373 to run the ford wasted spark coil directly, you are advised to use the led's to fire the bip373's.

You might have problems finding a BIP373 other than from an MS dealer.

Having the extra BIP373 for some time, but I live in the Algarve its summer and have bean difficult to spend some time at home wiring this.

Should I put an extra headsink or fix-it to the lead or its better to remove a not used componente and wiring from that.

Many fix the second BIP to the lid of the case which will make a decent heatsink. Or even both of them - if you also need a high current Fidl driver.

Just finish assemble the MS and now I getting "Not RPM synced" I'm using jimstim 1.4 and just did the rpm test with the led and seams fine to me.

Also the O2 gauge its not working linear like the other temp and tps, with just a touch goes wild to 17 and another touch goes to 12.
probably something whit the MS assemble as the rpm works whit the O2 sensor correct?

In your pics, you don't appear to have jumpered VR OUT to Tsel.

D2 is in the opto circuit - so nothing to do with the VR one.

Which instructions are you following?

I start to follow the instruction on megamanual as I start the built for use whit edis, have the vb921 and some jumpers at this time, then I've stop the assemble and many moths later I decide to change to direct coil and I found myself lost, start to see the MXExtra manuals, change the VB921 to BIP373, put an extra BIP373 remove the VRout to Tsel I think because I dint see any ref to this jump wire on the BIP373 mod.

If you have decided on Extra Code, only use the Extra Manual. B&G did some things in a different way - so very confusing if you use their manual.

Tonight will try the VRout to Tsel jump and do some more reading on MSExtra manuals.

I also cant fell the R56 and R52 botom out but that's for another time, I should se some rpm signal even without correct adjust.

They have a slipping clutch, so provided you have turned them enough turns anti-clock, they'll be at zero. With a standard VR sensor they should be fine like that.

Thanks for all the help, just need the VRout to Tsel jumper, pots are all the way anti-clock.

In the next days I will try to assemble on my car only for ignition, for now, testing the VR sensor and coil from ford.
