As per the instructions
It states that u1 does not require a heatsink if your not powering any external circuits
The only circuit i plan to use the 5ref for is a varying resistance shift lever sensor
The resistance values are not pre determined and I can make them what I ever I want
The shift the lever from Nissan is a very basic digital out put switch with a common rail switching each position to its own output
P,r,n,d,3,2,1
This gives me to many digital inputs to be able to use so I had planned to place resistors on each output to then turn it to a voltage divider along with the 5v ref
Will I need a heatsink on the u1 regulator

Re: Gpio u1 heatsink question
Further thought, as this particular install doesn't have a tps already fitted, that load will then be added to 5v as well when one is fitted

Re: Gpio u1 heatsink question
Normally things like a TPS don't draw much current. These don't usually need a heat sink.
