Hello there,
I've been using the search function but couldn't really find a good answer. I'm currently building my MS2 with v3.0 PCB. And I am wondering how I could get a working tacho output. My stock ECU sends out the signal to my tachometer now and I won't be able to use IAC outputs since my engine uses a 4 pin stepper motor.
I found this scheme:
But what is meant by "selected pin on the PCB"?
Help would be appreciated
Tacho output while using stepper motor

What is the CKP wheel? (How many teeth, any missing-teeth).
Re: Tacho output while using stepper motor
My engine has a 60 - 2 CKP ;)

It is a generic diagram. You have to decide what processor output is going to be used to control that circuit.Noël wrote:But what is meant by "selected pin on the PCB"?

Re: Tacho output while using stepper motor
Okay, and I'll have to configure that output as "RPM" in MegaTune? Or do I just sound kind of stupid right now? :p
Re: Tacho output while using stepper motor
Depends on your setup, you can use the negative leg of led D15 to make your rpm tachoutput, it is pretty easy if you have knowledge in basic electronics, and you can take the signal out in SPR1-4Noël wrote:Okay, and I'll have to configure that output as "RPM" in MegaTune? Then, select in tunerstudio your tachoutput port:
Basic/Load Settings > Tacho output
Select enable, then Output On: D15
Re: Tacho output while using stepper motor
So if I build the scheme I posted earlier in the proto area using the negative of D15 i'll be all good
