No Power?
Hey all, I just recently assembled my (megasquirt 2 V 3.00) board but it will not power up. I tested for voltage and I have 12 volts on the left leg of U5, the top of D4. There is 5 volts at the proto, the right leg of U5, on the daughter board, and the positive leg of the LED's. But Nothing happens and I can not put firmware on it. It isn't recognized by the computer. I am very confused right now. Thank you all so much.
Also, I have the bootloader that came on the MS2 card still on and I jumped the Boot Loader on the bigger board. Please help, I am so stuck. Thank you.

Re: No Power?
If you have 5 volts at the right places, it is at least powering up. Does it pass the serial loopback test?

Re: No Power?
Not so far. The computer finds it on COM Port but then that's as far as I can get. Thank you so much for helping me through this.

Re: No Power?
It wasn't clear to me: do you have one, or even two boot jumpers in place? If so, remove any and try again.
Re: No Power?
I did have both of them on, but I have since removed them. Here is an update...
There is no response in hyperterminal, I can not get anything to happen there.
However, In TunerStudio>Communication>Mini terminal i can type something and I get something back when I open the port with the right name.
Maybe something to note, I am not sure, There are TWO of the same names in the COM port selection in the Mini terminal and one works but the other does not.

Re: No Power?
So if you jumper pins 12 and 13 on the 40 pin socket, you're saying it does not loop back?

Re: No Power?
It does pass the Loopback, sorry for the misunderstanding. I am using a mac book air with mac OS Sierra. I also have the internal serial adapter installed and the legs for the U6 folded up and not in contact.

Re: No Power?
If you are using the DLP-TXRX, do you have the transistor mod installed on it?

Re: No Power?
No I do not, I thought that was for the V2.2 boards.

Re: No Power?
This is sometimes needed for MS2s with an early serial monitor version as well.Chris944 wrote:No I do not, I thought that was for the V2.2 boards.

Re: No Power?
Okay I did not know that, I will work on that. I was reading on the webpage for the DLP-TXRX page and it says that if it does not recognize it then I should download a driver. When I am connected it says " /dev/tty.usbserial-12345678 .. ". Is it being recognized or is that something totally different?
Re: No Power?
I put the transistor on and there has been no change. I also tried to download the driver for the internal usb adapter and i extracted it but again, no change. I am going to keep trying different things, I think I will take the usb adapter off and try to use a straight through DB9. I am not sure what else to try.

Re: No Power?
One old guy's opinion of course, but if you have an old school serial (ala DB9) connection available, that is what I would choose every time!Chris944 wrote:I think I will take the usb adapter off and try to use a straight through DB9.
