Image Shadow Dash MS.

It has been in the works for a while, actually some of you may have seen this app working some time ago, but I feel it is now ready for broader use.

Overview:
- Tunerstudio Dashboard Style and flexibility
- Shadow Logger simplicity
- MSL or FRD format data logging
- Tune save & Load with normal msq files
- Support for all MegaSquirt Firmwares
- Slide between 4 Dashboards that are open at all times
- Android Sensor data (GPS, Accelerometer, Magnetic, etc)
- HUD Mode
- Support for Android 2.2 and up.
- Lots more....

For more information:
I made a little video to go over the app:
http://youtu.be/X7JOLBSakIk

or visit the app intro at:
http://tunerstudio.com/index.php/shadowdashmsmenu

Real dashboards for all megasquirt firmwares.

That may look like a TunerStudio Dash, but it is a screenshot from my phone.

This isn't Shadow Logger, or the next version of Shadow Logger, this is a whole new approach on the strategic platform. So this engine has a full read / write engine with intense data verification.

Phil,

Is this the version that will have read/write via a website for tune management? What is the intention for updating the tune on the fly?

great work :yeah!:
but how do you deal with custom inc files
the custom inc files don,t seem to be in the project folder of tunerstudio
i tried copying in some old easytherm files in the inc folder of shadow dash but that didn,t work

This has the engine for that. The only writing it does now is msq loads. But yet, remote tuning will be coming, I just had to lock scope for this release somewhere, it just kept going up :)

Once you connect to your MS1, there will be a Project created in the dir:
/Shadow Dash MS/MS1_Extra/

That is really more or less a standard TunerStudio project. If you drop your custom inc file in the dir:
/Shadow Dash MS/MS1_Extra/inc/

They should be picked up. You will need to restart the app though.

It might... Make sure you change to Celsius in the "Project Settings" too. But it doesn't seem to be swapping out the units on the gauge right after you change it. The value is right, but the gauge is still set with min/max & units for F. That looks like a bug.

BTW Grant, that Q818XT you pointed me too is pretty cool. Thanks.
I have been using it a lot, thus I put in direct support for it without the mock locator.
Also added it to my inventory :)

Really cool! I can definitely see how much work went into this and how time consuming it is to came up with something like this.

Really looks like quality work, but what else to except from you :)

No probs. so do you parse NMEA and SIRF sentences? Curious about what impl you used to track and convert the serial data?

Works even on my anicient HeroC :yeah!: Drives it to its tiny virtual knees, but with 128M ram and a 500MHz processor, one can only do so much.

I definately need more "phone" , almost looks as though it could easily become a full digital dash on a proper device. :D
(Esp w/MS3 and an IOX for sensor/inputs)

Am already lgoogling for small sections of semireflecting film for the HUD.

Killed my battery before I managed to change try more themes, will play again tomorrow.

In all your free time  ---request: Dyno w/weight, cD/frontal area and drivetrain loss.
(For registered MLV too, but AFTER getting the Lambda delay usable for MS3//MS3 SDLogs, so it can agree with TS/VEAL)

Good work Phil. Kind of where I was heading with my project, though real life keeps hindering it.

(I'd like to say I've tried this application out in my own car like the rest of you lot, but I can't. My car is 90 degrees upright on a chassis rotator completely bare, so I have to settle for the stimulator and my own 'brum' noises. :D )

Thanks Sebastian, Dave & Trev16. I know you guys understand what goes into these, especially getting from working to a ready product. Working is about 20% done :P

NMEA sentences. I used my existing comms interface layer and built a small parser from this:
http://www.gpsinformation.org/dale/nmea.htm

I found a couple parsers out there, but they seemed over complicated for a string parser. I'm really only using GGA & RMC sentences at this point though.

Good to hear :)... Over the past month most of the work been put into performance optimizations, especially in IO.
There is a preference to slow the Maximum refresh rate, this seems to matter more on some devices than others. I have one phone where if I let it run at max, the phone actually gets warm after 15 minutes or so and it can eat battery. Navigation always had the same effect on it, now get why. Slowing the max refresh rate to 15 seems to help a good deal.

Here is are a couple pics of a Galaxy S3 in my 1968 Chevelle. It definitely is worthy of full digital dash status.

Speaking of reflective film, please post up anything that you find that works to reduce the double image on windshields in HUD mode. This has some serious potential.

You made the holiday by creating a program for my DIYPNP.
The only - not working my G-sensor Tablet PC.
I use this cheap tablet - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-Tablet ... 41483.html
And problems with G-sensor was not on other applications (Torque).
But in general, a great package and a job.
Thanks to you, work with Megasquirt system is pleasant and comfortable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only question -
I can make faster communication connection after I had to turn off and turn on the ignition of my car.
Now I just set up my DIYPNP and often there are cases when the engine stalls.
To perform a restart I have to completely turn off the power and re-enable to launch.
In the ignition lock is accidentally repeated start with the engine running.
Compounds (especially repeat) is very long.
And when there is a fine-tuning options it brings inconvenience.

I lost my old files when I lost my computer. Would having a new project cause the file uploads to not work? Do I need to update anything on shadowtuner.com?

What are you seeing from the G Sensor?

Is it not going back online on it's own after a power cycle? It should.
However it does commonly take up to 30 seconds. the time is in reestablishing the BT Connection, most adapters seems to take a little time after the power cycle to be social. Once you get the BT connection back, it should be back online almost instantly.
I lost my old files when I lost my computer. Would having a new project cause the file uploads to not work? Do I need to update anything on shadowtuner.com?
As long as you are logged into shadowtuner.com, it should upload the same as Shadow Logger.. However all the MSL files will just land in "Default Project" on Shadowtuner.com for now.
