Trip and average fuel economy in Shadowdash

Post by winstonusmc »

I tried to enable a trip and average fuel economy in Shadowdadash but the gauges I put in Tuner studio don't function. I would like to see this work on my tablet due to my laptop not being as mobile.

Hi,

I had exactly the same deception when buying the software. We usually put these megasquirt on not the young cars thta don't have an onboard computer showing these king of informations. Here is my wish

I have a scangauge that has a nice setup. I'd see something that looks like that.

Having the average fuel economy working.

Having more than one trip meter and its reset button (with a confirmation box for the touch screen). for each trip meter is associated the calculations: trip and average fuel consumption.

This way We can set the trip meter (and put a custom name) to what We want:
-One for the tank
-One for the trip we want
-One by default which is the current run

The way I see to use it is that
-You insert trip1, trip2 or currenttrip for the tripmeter
-You insert its associated average fuel economy, avfuec1, avfuec2 or currentfuec
-You insert its reset button, resettrip1, resettrip2, resetcurrenttrip

Any chance to see something soon?

Waiting for that too!

Everything works fine except these fundamental things.

We don't only modify these car for track but for daily driving and trip/is an essential.

Having a scangauge that works fine and inspire me here is my suggestions:

Minimum:
-Make the average fuel economy works

Nice to have:
-Make the trip meter work, the one that measure the current trip

Really nice to have:

I'd like 3 trips meter, 3 reset buttons and theirs associated average fuel economies.

The reset button can be touch enabled and resert both the trip and fuel economy

One trip meter is the current, as soon as Shadow dash start everything is at zero and trip/fuel economy are calculated and can be resetted.
One is trip1 and reset only on demand
One is trip2 and reset only on demand

This way I can have a trip related to my fuel tank and another to a travel trip. The current one is for my everyday travel on the road.

The instant fule economy doesn't seem to give a good idea of the real economy even when cruising, it is higher.

Thanks!

Hi,

One more idea: I think the trip values need to be stored locally on the device which is running SD because it is not counted by the firmware and because there is no power management built into MS. Lost meters should be avoided in case of MS power off, so as SD goes offline, values need to be saved or periodically written into a file.

Sorry if a strategy already defined for this and I just echo something.

I just wonder if there is a way to make a small LCD display like megaview that has an onboard memory that works like the OEM guages.
