ShadowDash error connecting to controller

I have a Gen2 PNP recently installed in my 99 Miata and I ordered the BT connector from EFI Analytics.

Today I plugged the BT adapter into the serial port, and tried to connect to my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) with the Shadow Dash app installed. The BT adapter will pair and connect, but then a message flashes "First time setup for: UNKNOWN" and after a moment or two an error message flashes on the screen - something to the effect that it cannot open a file - but it is gone so quickly that I can't write down what it is saying. After that, the base dashboard is displayed (with the speed and accelerometer gauges showing) but nothing else.

It seems as if the BT is connected but the controller is not found.

Any clue?

It sounds like it is getting something back but not a valid MS2 signature.
Can you post / send the AppDebug.txt file from the /ShadowDash MS/dir on the phone.

In that file I don't see where it got an invalid signature, it looks like it failed to connect each time.
