Shadow Dash low runtime data

Post by JAM »

efi analytics blue tooth
current download of shadow dash
ms3 pre1.4 (and other variants i have had this problem)

will say connected to blue tooth, the gauges will light up and it will say runtime data 13, 14, 21 etc and start the cycle over. it will cycle forever. other times it will say 513 ( or something around that) and work fine

I have also found that after this activity I seems to also have some problems with my connection tuner studio being intermittent to my PC.

any help is appriciated

I'm getting the same thing with Shadow Dash. Unless I get a runtime data of 514 it won't go online and gets stuck connecting and disconnecting. I'm on 1.4a6 with a Nexus 5 on 4.4.4 running Shadow Dash 1.27. On my PC I have no connection issues as long as I remember to unplug the Bluetooth serial.

I was not aware of that firmware release, so the ini's were not on the server.
If you connect again while the tablet has internet access, it will download the proper ini and work.

The runtime data rate is reading "13, 14, 21 etc"?

sorry that probably was not clear- one time it will read 14, the next time 13 , and so on. if it is in those number ranges it will start cycle over. whenever it says the 513 (or around that number) it connects and works great. i have never had a problem with this app once it connects. I tried with 2 different nexus 7 tablets and my samsung galaxie phone all same results

thanks for your reply

Would this seem to be more of a bluetooth communication situation, hardware, or a maybe a setting that needs changed?

This may be one of those uncommon random issues, trust me i am an expert at finding random scenarios  if there is any troubleshooting i should try please let me know. I am thinking it is not an android device situation because i was able to replicate on 3 devices. I have had this problem in the distant past but it would cycle once or twice and then the data rate would go up and work fine. now its in perpetual cycle for some reason. If you think it may be a BT device issue let me know an i will order another one, i would like to try and make this work by friday as i have a race saturday. Thanks

Perhaps there is a clue in the appDebug.txt

Also, is this happening after you have run it, exited then run it again?
If you bring up the running apps menu and swipe it shut, so it is a clean startup, does it work consistently?

I am familiar with the TunerStudioAppDebug.txt, so I am assuming you are saying there is a similar file that can be found on the android, can you point me to where it is stored?

it is happening before and after i have run it on a fresh startup. it even happened on a brand new install of app on the device

Not much in there other than a bunch of failed connection attempts. I don't see any actual connections.

What did you see happen from the laptop? Was this connected via bluetooth also?

no it was via usb cable
It will connect for a few seconds then randomly cut out, and reconnect.

happens over and over again, not unlike it would do when both the BT and usb were connected

What exactly happens over and over? Connect disconnect?

The TunerStudioAppDebug.txt files have a lot more info in it than Shadow Dash's, especially with Comm Debug turned on. So if you can capture a file there it is much more useful.

It does look as though you are getting a bunch of protocol errors.

Have you tried it with the latest stable firmware?
