Buying a phone for shadow dash

I still use a cheap flip phone. I could care less about cell phones and I only keep it to please the wife.
Time to modernize.
I have Shadow Dash ms and the GPS gadget.
When buying a phone does it specifically need to say that it has an Accelerometer or is a g-meter inherent to all Android phones?
I see conflicting info on this.

Any other buying tips appreciated.

I do tend to keep looking at the tablets but until TS can deal with Android I will pass.
The windows tablets are just too far out there pricewise.

All modern androids have an accelerometer in them. This allows the phones to know when to auto rotate the screen from landscape to portrait. Many games uses this as the "modern day control pads" This forced the demand for precise accelerometers to be inorporated into the phones. Samsung HTC and LG are what I would consider the leading performance brands. If you look around, you can find pretty good deals on a Samsung Gallaxy S3.
