I got the 3.5 inch display sorted out this weekend. It now displays data the the front screen and also logs 14 variables into the sdcard. Data rate looks to be in the 9hz range as there is more computations to solve before pushing the data into the sd card. A new file name is created on each start up. Each file is saved as a .csv and loads into MegaLogViewer without any issues.

Very nice display/datalogger.
Could you provide additional information about the display and the software for it?
Thanks!

The display is a 4D systems. https://4dsystems.com.au/products/featured-products
They have more displays to pick from now than they did 4 years ago.
The software is free, https://4dsystems.com.au/products/software I haven't looked at the latest versions in a while.
I wish the micro that runs the dash had CAN. That would work so much better than having the dash request serial packets. I suppose one could set up a teensy3.2 and CAN transceiver to receive broadcast CAN data then convert to serial and blast serial to the display.
