Got RealDash working over the ESP8266. Bluetooth was easy, but my Dell tablet doesn't play nice with Realdash so I had to get it going over wifi on the iPad :).
The app is really cool, thank you for developing it, I purchased the full version:)

Suppose I want to use RealDash on Windows or Android as well, do I need to buy additional licenses for each platform?

Cross selling between the platforms is strictly prohibited by the rules/agreements of each store. Giving free purchase for a purchase from another store would get us banned from the stores.

We have been working on new digital dashboard/performance meter application called RealDash:

RealDash is available for Android, iOS, and Windows 10. Our goal is to create perfect dashboard application, with absolutely no limits but users imagination. We would very much like to hear of what features you wish/expect from such a app.

We appreciate any suggestions and feature requests,

Laptimes!

Itwould be great if we could get lap times. The only way to do it now is what the split screen feature in Android.

Not sure if it's possible to extract lap times for the lap time apps. But worth looking into.

RealDash has an lap timer gauge. It is not as sophisticated as the ones in purpose build lap timer apps, but has worked quite well for some users. Give it a try.

For those who did not notice, we released a version with brand new default dashboard, free for all:

The imperial units version of new default dash is in Dashboard Gallery.

I wanted to let you know that I have a new model of my wifi modules comming in. Boot time is almost instant and price will be a little bit lower that before. It will also run on the 5v output of the Megasquirt like my bluetooth modules instead of the 12v like previous model.

Contact me if you need it!

We have worked really hard on new branding on RealDash. :yeah!:

Work is still ongoing, as we are improving the settings and dashboard gallery user interfaces.

Check out our progress so far:

We have added a new animated default dashboard, free for all RealDash users:

And brand new supercar premium dashboard:

Wow, I need to fire up my tablet and see how well Realdash works now. Been frustrated with ShadowDash and connection issues so this may be a solution.

One question which comes to mind. Ultimately, I want to have a double din HU installed which is probably running Droid and be BT & WiFi capable. Looking at a Chinese unit as they are much less expensive but have many features. Would your Wifi interface work with these units (ref link below)?

That's excellent. I may look at importing one of these and then install in my car as I'm very limited with cab space being a two seater. Do you know of any HU's which would work with Tuner Studio? Reason I ask is this would save using a laptop and VEAL.

Hi, why can't connect with prolific chip usb/serial? It's enable for the next update? Thanks and good job! The design mode of realdash is amazing.

I've purchased the 7" stereo HU for car so once it arrives I will get into the RealDash displays. Might have a play on my phone or tablet to modify one of the existing examples and play around with connectivity to MS.

Can I ask what is most reliable connection to MS and would start-up automatically when ignition switched ON; serial (proflic USB) cable, Bluetooth or Wifi?

The Android 5.1.2 HU I bought supports all of these protocols but not sure if it can act as a BT Host or how decent the Wifi interface is if adapter purchased. In my mind nothing is better than a cable although I've had problems with the various adapters.

Sorry for late reply. For whatever reason I'm no longer receiving email notifications of new posts.

FTDI chipset support was chosen because its used by MS3. Profilic chipset support for Android (it works fine with Windows 10 version of RealDash) could be added, but honestly I'm not too keen doing it. Reason is that Profilic chipset drivers for Android have lot of known issues, and it worries me that it may cause us more trouble than we can handle.

Is purchasing a Serial-Bluetooth or FTDI usb adapter an option for you?

We have released a 1.1.5 version of RealDash. It has a lot more user friendly settings and gallery.

Also, we just released a brand new premium dashboard, "The Mint":

We wanted to try something completely different on this one, still retaining the usability and being informative.

This might have been covered.. Does this work with a MS1 or just the MS2/3?

The app reconizes the ecu with a USB connection, but does not actually read any readings. I think I might be missing a step in the set up.. Any guides for set up?
