ShadowDash crashing

Post by HidRo »

Hi!

I have an issue, that is when I'm pairing the BT device, ShadowDash will crash.
If the BT device is already paired, it will crash the app on load.

Anything I can do, log, etc?
Also, is it easy to connect with the RS232 to USB cable? I got an adapter for USB to Micro USB, but I don't know how to set it up, if at all possible.

Thanks!

Not sure on the crash...
Perhaps try pairing the adapter then reboot the phone, then try.

Have you ever been able to connect with this device?

As long as it is an FTDI based cable and your device supports USB host mode (most do nowadays), just plug it in and it will connect on that.

It's a prolific cable.
I can try that pair and then reboot.

One thing I saw up until now is that when pairing the BT, it will not have a name (the name it's setup to) and will show the address (MAC address or something).
Is there something I can log or?

thanks!

Perhaps install Blueterm and try to connect with that. See if you can connect to it and send an S, then get a response.

My bet is, Blueterm will crash too. It almost sounds like there may be a bug in the bluetooth stack for your device.

Tested it.
Adding the BT, restart, opening up the app = Crash

Installed BlueTerm, connected ok, but every single key I touched, would show ?l. The reply to this was ?l
Changed to show the key press, and if I type s, this is what I get: s?l

I took a log of that Blueterm. Not sure it's worth it?

This RS232 BT I have works perfectly fine with my laptops and some Android devices.

I think I found the issue. A new release is coming shortly.
