Shadow-Dash: Custom Dashboards ; Startup ; Data-Logging

Post by Speedy_G »

Hello,

how many custom dashboards are actually supported?
I tried to upload a "dashboard_2_landscape.dash" but SD wont show it.
Its only showing the dashboards with index 0 and 1.
But according to the homepage up to 4 dashboards should be supported?

(Version 1.32)
Edit: I see that there is a newer version on google play. I though it would update alone. Will try this and report.

The second thing: Is it possible to start/shutdown Shadow Dash automaticly when a power source is connected or disconneted?
Like in RealDash.Maybe also with a custom Intro-Screen (just a picture o gif)

Third issue is about Data-Logging.
Would it be possible to select a different folder?
Because SD is always on the harddrive of the Tablet. But i have a 32GB micro SD card, but i cant move to App to the SD card.

Furthermore i noticed that i have to restart the Tablet, to have the datalogs acutally saved. Or that i can see them, when i connect via USB to the tablet.
Or maybe would it be possible to transfer the Datalogs via Bluetooth to the laptop?
I know that its possible to upload them onto the web. But on some racetracks you dont have a Internet connection.

There is an updated version currently in the works, it should be out in about 2 weeks.

- Support for TS3 dashboards.
- Fix Automatic logging.
- Log to SD
The second thing: Is it possible to start/shutdown Shadow Dash automaticly when a power source is connected or disconneted?

There is an option for this in preferences

The files are there... That sounds like an issue between the tablet and PC... I have one tablet like that too. It only shows the files that were there on the initial plug in..
Or maybe would it be possible to transfer the Datalogs via Bluetooth to the laptop?
Quite possible, doubt very difficult. I will take a look at including in this next release.

There are 4 landscape and 4 portrait dashboards. Only the 1st 3 of each are configurable now though. The 4th is always generated as the standard 8 dial.

At first thanks for the quick respond.
Those first points sound very good, i was already wondering why some gauges doesnt show up correctly.
Also the point concerning SD card. That corresponds with my other wish

I only found the option to disconnect when its not charged.
But what i mean:
The tablet is connected to ignition power via USB-Adapter. You turn the ignition key on and then automaticly ShadowDash shows up. (When tablet was in stand-by before)
In RealDash this is working, but i dont know the background how its working.
For disconnecting it would be okay, when it doesnt prevent sleep-mode / stand-by mode anymore.

Edit: Okay when i deactivate the Lockscreen, its also working in ShadowDash, as the Tablet starts the last app

okay perfect. Maybe it would somehow be possible to communicate with Tunerstudio to Shadow Dash to transmit the logs.

I'm not sure if i understand you correctly.

I just updated to SD 1.34
But it still wont show the fourth dashboard.
So i replaced the Home Dashboard in order to get my dash working.
But at all its only 3 working dashboards (Home, Dashboard 0 ; Dashboard 1)
But dashboard 2 is not recognized.

Yes... 4 dashboards (Home, dash0, dash1, default Dash Generated from ini file)
The 4th dash has no file.

Now it would be conceivable to have it check for a file and use that if it is there..

okay then it seems all working like it should. I thought that a fourth custom dashboard is possible.

Are "Fuel Flow" and "Liters used" from Trip Economy TS3 specific and will work with the new SD Version?
At the moment they are crossed out in SD. Respectively there is a alternative for fuel flow but not for liters used.

Today with the new Version 1.34 and the new dashboards i got a lot of connection losses today.
Looked like it always happened when i switched to a specific dashboard. The one with the two fuel economy values .
And it shows 25 values at all. Is it possible that those are too much values to display?
Now i dont get a connection at all. It only tries to connect for a second and then it directly says failed and then the same again and so on.

MS3? I have seen that happening, I believe it is bug when it updates the high speed run-time table.
