Scatter plot info
Hi I thought this might be a good post to start maybe the mods can lock it if it starts having some good info, also I'll change the title to something better suited.. Info welcome, so I know nothing about scatter plots but I'd love for that to change what I'm looking do here for the forum is have a post that gives the info needed to setup them up then explains what you'd look for in the plot to determine problem. I think it would be a nice reference list to maybe add to the manuals down the road!

This is a good place to start,

Google is your friend for this question. Also check out http://www.miataturbo.net/
They are big fans of MS over there and have lots of scatter plot specific info.

See http://www.nbs-stl.com/tuning
Here is the most basic scatter plots off one of the blown motors I tune. This is most like the Speed-Density fuel map.

The trick to understanding scatter plots is plotting lots of data. It is almost impossible to have too much data.

Thanks

Re: Scatter plot info
I do think that scatterplots could provide some info regarding issues during tuning, but the info is not enough or not specific enough to really make use of it correctly.

Re: Scatter plot info
There is no one way to view EFI data. I have been doing this stuff for about 15 years now and scatter plots is now the first place I go to see what a motor is doing.Yves wrote:I do think that scatterplots could provide some info regarding issues during tuning, but the info is not enough or not specific enough to really make use of it correctly.
