need help getting started please 408w turbo
I have a freshly built 408w with promaxx heads, comp cams xfi cam, on3 turbo, mspnp2 this motor has never been fired before making these attempts. Ive got it as far as cranking and hitting and wanting to stay running but instantly dies but i can sometimes keep it alive a little with throttle. my timing at crank is correct. does anyone have any suggestion please and thanks.

Check to be sure the MAP sensor is plumbed up properly.
What injectors are you using?

yea its plumbed right. I'm using bosch 80lb injectors. I cant figure it out,it seems like i've tried everything but I know I'm probably missing something.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Turn off AE, set the cranking threshold down to 200, and set the flood-clear threshold up to 99%. That will keep the fuel PW from flitting up/down so wildly. Have you done a simple "suck test" of the MAP system (sensor, wiring, and MS)?
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
I just tried the what you told me and still no different. how exactly do I go about doing the the suck test with the ms. I really appreciate the replys
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
I did the sucked test through ts and with hose unplugged has 98.4 kpa and sucking I got down to 69.4 and blowing it to 115

Okay, it sounds like the MAP sensor is working. Post new MSQ and MSL from after you tried what I suggested.
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Mine did similar things when I didnt have good sync. Do you have a good composite log?

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Can you post a new data log after AE and flood clear were changed?
Also have you checked your plugs, sometimes they will foul after numerous starting attempts.
Is there a reason you have Spark Hardware Latency set to 10?
One other thing I see in your msq is dwell is set to Fixed Dwell, I think it should be set to Standard Dwell.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Sorry for taking so long to reply got caught up at work. I got it to stay running longer this morning but only with wot and anything less than that would die. This is the log from this morning and after changes.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Only running on WOT suggests it is too rich. Your VE table is kind of rich, but not so much that I would expect the engine to not run. Are your injectors high or low-Z? Have you flowed them for rate and dead-time? I'm not seeing where injector PWM factors can be set when I open that MSQ, probably because I have little experience with MS2. Post a recent MSQ, and point me to where I can check the injector PWM...
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
no I haven't ever flowed them for rate and dead time. there high-z. Its under fuel settings-injector dead time/pwm.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Interesting... that PWM stuff simply isn't there when I open it up. I'm using TS v2.6.14, what version are you on? Have you tried leaning it out? With high-Z injectors I think you want to set PW to 100% or turn PWM off somehow.
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Something's very wrong with the injector settings functions in TS; even changing to 4 cyl, 4 injectors, simult and add'l drivers, I can't get the sequential fields to un-grey.

Have you tried reflashing the firmware?
I have seen corrupted firmware do some strange things.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
The injector PWM stuff comes up OK if I open my (MS3) tune, I haven't checked any others. Has this issue been reported in the TS forum yet?
Edit: I peeked at a few other MSQs posted here, the PWM settings are there. I'm thinking this problem is only with this OP's install.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
MSPNP2 could well be microsquirt based wilth VND5N07 type injector drivers. Those drivers do not do PWM current limiting. High impedance or resistors only.
Find the Manuals up top under Quick links: Manuals.

*bonk* Yup, it's a uS-Module on a carrier board.

Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
I suggest the OP confirm exactly which hardware is in use. Would the MS2extra FW indicated in the project properties be correct for a PNP? My perception is that there are nuances in FW for the MS2-based HW.
Re: need help getting started please 408w turbo
Oh, there are definitely 'nuances' - and differences, and quirks, and gotchas, and ... I've just looked at the .msq again, and in the ProgOut section (the quickest way to tell which version you're looking at) is a selection that can only be based on a uS-Module. Thus, no PWM.
Interestingly, the reason I couldn't get the 'Seq / Semi-Seq / untimed' option to un-grey is the ignition trigger is set to "basic trigger". Is this supposed to be that way?
