Hi,
Im trying to put a variable ignition angle on my GX31, with a ECU MSII. I´ve apllied on TunerStudio MS the standard ignition advance angle for this engine, of 27 degrees, as a fixed timing, and by using a picoescope, i synchronized the discharge timing of the electronic ignition with the magnet ignition. Then i apllied on TunerStudio the ignition offset angle obtained, wich was 165 degrees. Then i assembled the electronic ignition on the engine. On iddle, at about 2100 rpm the engine works fine, but when i start pushing the throttle just slightly i can hear immediately detonation.
Isnt it strange that, with fixed advance angle, the engine on iddle works fine and then when i increase the rpm it starts detonating?
Thanks of the attention
Regards.

Re: GX31 Ignition Tuning
No, not at all strange; that is exactly what I would expect. At idle the MAP is lower so compression pressure is lower. The engine can take (and may need) more advance.
Re: GX31 Ignition Tuning
Did you check the timing with a strobe? -Both on the original and with MS.

Re: GX31 Ignition Tuning
Yes i did. Already was able to solve the problem, basically the problem was with the picoescope. thanks
