Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
Hi,
I am using Over Run fuel cut on a 13B turbo rotary. It is working quite well by improving drivability on decel. There is however a smallish jolt as the fuel returns.
I'd like to enable progressive return to further improve drivability HOWEVER the Tool Tips tell me not to do that with Staged injection which of course is a normal feature of a rotary motor's fueling. Why?
The engine is running just on primary injectors at that point. What's the risk with progressive return here?
Thanks for any advice,
Arran

Re: Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
The code doesn't support it, so it likely to do strange unexpected things. That's why the tooltips says not to enable it.

Could you post you MSQ and data log? I would love to see how you have it set up.

Re: Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
Thanks James, is there any likelihood that the code will support over run fuel cut and staged injection?
Whittlebeast, I'll post up MSQ/MSL if you put yours up first!

Re: Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
Hi, just thought I'd ask whether there might be any thought being put into progressive fuel cut and progressive fuel return for staged injection?
Also I mentioned it in another thread, support for electric water pump would be smashing
Any chance of these couple of things being incorporated into 1.3.3?

Re: Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
Hi,
I just applied firmware 1.3.3. Progressive fuel return does not look to be supported yet.
Progressive return is of most interest because of the jolt experienced when coasting down, on decel the sudden return of the fuel makes the car surge quite a bit.

Re: Progressive fuel cut/fuel return and staged injection
That's a 1.4.x feature, it will not be incorporated in 1.3.x

That is good news! Is that something that is in the current 1.4?

Oh wait, no. The staged injection restriction is unchanged.

Bump, still keen on this.
Progressive return when the engine is on decel would help with drivability
