o2 sensor position

Post by mustangjp »

Hello, I have a question concerning the distance from the exhaust valve to the O2 sensor. It seems logical that closer is better, but is that true? I mounted mine when I still ran a carb, and placed it near the back of the car. It is approximately 110"(2.8M) from the exhaust valve. Is that too far back? I understand that there will be a slight delay required for things like EGO correction, and that logs will show a lag in response on the O2.

Thanks,
JP
