maf/map

Post by cukali »

MS3 with MS3x

my maf handles only 250 or so HP. I also have a map installed that is a 5 bar.

I was using table switching with MAP but want to take advantage of the maf for normal driving...is there a way to table switch using maf? Or better yet switch to MAP when under boost?

thx guys

Use table switching with MAP as the trigger.

I currently have MAP for my table switching. When I select MAF as control algorithm the VE dual table gets grayed out. Can you explain how I would use MAF for normal driving and MAP for boost? I attached my MSQ I am using for MAP table switching. (ignore the table values, this tune hasn't been tuned yet, I just wrote it)

Should I not use "table switching" but instead use "dual fuel switching"?

This is something new so I apologize for asking simple questions. Its not critical for me to do it this way, I just wanted to give it a shot. I like the MAF for NA driving and since this truck has it built into the TB I thought I would make use of it.

Thnx.

I'm away from my computer right now so I can't check, but I believe you can use blended tables to do this.

I might want to do the same thing. Please post results when you get it figured out.

I've had a rummage through your .msq, and I *think* this is how to do it:

Under [Basic/Load Settings][General Settings],
  • select "Primary Fuel Load" => "MAF"
select "Secondary Fuel Load" => "Speed Density"
    select "Secondary Fuel" => "Additive"
Select " "Multiply MAP" => "Multiply
Under [Basic/Load Settings][MAF Settings], select "Use VE1 as trim table"

Under "Fuel Settings", fill VE1 with 100 up to your switchover point (100.0 kPa?), and zero from 100.1 kPa and up. Tune VE2 normally from 100.1 kPa and up, but set everything 100.0 kPa and under to zero.

Under [Table Choices][Table Switch / Dual Fuel], select "Fuel Table Switching" => "Off"
Temporarily shut down - back soon!

That's not the type of blended tables I was thinking of, the settings above use a secondary modifier table.

I'd use the "blend curve" feature. See "Secondary algorithm blended table" here:

i actually have done this. i had it setup so an output fed an input and also had a manual switch inbetween so i could go sd at all times at a flip of a switch. yes use table blending. the only problem i had with this is that mat is handled differently whth maf as primary
