Interesting the adaptive gain. The problem is know when there is knock and where not (and where not, 'move' the gain to match the engine noise). Also to note that engine noise change a lot also with load, so maybe a load correction cirve can be added to the calculations...

A Gain or Threshold vs Load table is something I would very much like too.
I have problems with lots of noise under part throttle and de-accel.

If I get some serious dyno time, and perhaps after a FreeEMS or similar on my car, I'll run some tests of noise versus conditions across RPM, Boost, etc, and try to get a feel for how things move.

It's pretty much anyone's guess what's going on behind closed doors here, but one thing's for sure - whatever comes out, this info will help people here who want to know what's really going on.

If anyone else can make similar measurements, it'd be good - it's not like I really have ready access.

Has this gone anywhere? I would love to see changes in the knock control. I have not found good information on setting up the old method or solid results for my application.

Fist I've seen this thread on knock control which I've had several questions on. Guess I missed it being for the MS3 and not the MS2 I'm running.

Thread I started which had no response. All the Tuners I've spoke with state that the MS (and other) EMS don't have good knock control.

In practice, I've never gotten this system to be as predictable as the uber-simple KnocksenseMS that guy in Canada was selling for a while. The onboard chip in the MS3-Pro is certainly *better*, but I find it's triggering all the time for reasons I can't explain.

My offer stands to do some logging on the dyno, if there's some interest from the code-maintainers to use this data to improve the system. It's a feature that's 70% there and would be a major improvement if it worked as advertised.

I recently watched a video on haltech knock sensing. and the realtime logging they can do to set up thresholds and whatnot.

Really cool.
