Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
How do I start tuning the baro curve ?
Thanks !

Not much information to go on, and are you sure you need to tune it?

Drive up a mountain and adjust baro correction to get your AFRs back to their targets at various altitudes.
Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
I was thinking about Barometric correction, and MAT air density table, these are all fuel correction - right ?
So why do I need them if I use EGO ?...
I don't get it....

Do you have a lot of altitude variations in your area?elior77 wrote:I was thinking about Barometric correction, and MAT air density table, these are all fuel correction - right ?

I live in middle TN and it is pretty hilly and I have not seen a need to mess with barometric correction.
Also when you cycle the key TS sets the current barometric pressure.

Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
Baro and mat correction are important for a well operating tune (baro is really only important if you live or drive in an area with large altitude changes). EGO is just supposed to fine tune the fueling for various other instantaneous running conditions, things that would be near impossible to tune for. EGO should also not be in effect during wot and high load.
Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
If EGO fix my fuel in real time, why do I need all the other correction settings ?
I live at sea level and take my drives at 700-800 meter + (2300-2600ft+) and down to -430 meter (-1410ft) (dead sea)

On that theory why would you need a tune at all? EGO could just run all fueling calculations.

Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
How spot on is your tune at same altitude and close to same out side temp. ?
If not so much then this is where I would start.
If it is good then I would fine tune mat and then see if you have need to tune barometric correction.
A correctly tuned mat will take 4 seasons to tune correctly unless you can simulate cold to hot for your region.
Just my thoughts, not saying I am correct.

Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
Well, yes, EGO compensate fuel all around... but still I would like to understand why it would be better(?) to tune MAT and baro.CSXRT4 wrote:elior77 wrote:If EGO fix my fuel in real time, why do I need all the other correction settings ?

Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
Because the sign of an extremely well tuned ecu is where the ego correction is minimal to none. If you can get your tune to this holly grail level in all conditions the wide band pretty much just becomes a warning device for abnormal operation.

Re: Got baro sensor, how do I tune it ?
Since you live in the middle'ish elevation, you probably don't need to do much baro tuning. 2,600ft hardly registers on the O2 density change. Usually it takes about 5,000ft upwards to see a significant change. If you are running closed loop EGO corrections, then it's mostly a moot point as well since that will adjust to keep the AFR's reasonably constant.elior77 wrote:If EGO fix my fuel in real time, why do I need all the other correction settings ?

I don't use the EGO corrections and tune the barotable on the fly when changing elevation (sea level to ~7,500ft). In your case, I'd simply turn off the O2 corrections, see that your tune is decent at your normal elevation, then drive to approximately the highest area and check the AFR's at idle (assuming no closed loop fuel/spark idle) and adjust the baro table point to bring your AFR back to "normal", then drive out to the lowest point and do the same. Of course this doesn't have to happen on the same day, or in that order, just do it the next time you are out to those areas. Again, this really only works if you are running open loop fueling.
