I have a small block Ford where the air temperature sensor is located on the lower intake next to cylinder #5. I'm not experiencing any Heat Soak issues, but I am curious if there is a location which functions better for the MS.
Before the throttle body ??

Re: Air Temp Sensor Location
On my very early EFI engine, the ATS was part of the AFM. Didn't need the AFM with MS so replaced it with a plain tube, with the new ATS in that. Not sure it's ideal, though, as it does exhibit heat soak problems.

Re: Air Temp Sensor Location
Having it read air temp just before it enters the cylinder is ideal. Most of my applications have the ability to run water meth so I run all my intake temp sensors about 8 inches in front of the throttle blade and always post intercooler
