Off Rev issue

Post by My1969boss »

When i Rev my car up and let off the throttle it wants to die, it stumbles around trying to find the right rpms. I know my timing isnt spot on, but i wouldnt think that would play that big of factor..
Im also trying to sort this out before i start with the auto tune, Thats a whole story in itself..

It can. Fix that first.

TunerStudio is not displaying the AFR correctly in the log - please be sure you have the O2 set to wideband under Project Properties.

Fixed the project properties/ wideband..

Would that also cause me to run lean when i start the auto tune? It was going so lean that i would go back and put my own numbers in.

Afr was going to 17.1

yes if the megasquirt doesn't know the real settings for the wideband, it will make all kinds of bad corrections.. remember like any computer... its only as good at the data it receives, check the wideband settings make sure they match the output settings of the controller etc. don't forget to calibrate the unit in free air before doing your tuning.... it will save all kinds of headache in the future.

also bad timing will adversely affect your idle and how easy it returns to the idle state.

Ok, with the other issues fixed, i now have another one that came up..

My TPS is out of whack... keeping the car running the tps will go from 20% all the way up to 110% and when it goes back to 20-30% it starts acting weird..

I was late on getting the data logging started but you can see it happening in the file.. I have tried to recal the tps in TS but makes no difference...

I'm wondering if your TPS is on its way out.
