Alpha N VE table please

Post by GTGuy »

Hello,
I'm new to the Megasquirt. I have a MS3pro that I'm putting on a racing V6 engine with a single throttle body. Engine size is 3.5 L and is NA
I have a racing camshaft with 250/245 at 0.05 and 60 degrees overlap at 0.05
I assume therefore Alpha N would be a good choice.

I assume the VE generator will not work.
I also assume it's not a linear curve for Throttle position vs airfow.

Can anyone share a tuned Alpha-N VE and AFR table for me to start with.
I'd prefer a single throttle body but I will appreciate anything at this time.

Thanks

Welcome.
It may still be worth looking at SD, or going to ITB mode if you have time.
Else, AN will be reliable and only sacrifice a little bit of fuel.

I've attached my motors current tune file which is a little unusual as it's a combined SD(VE1) & AN(VE2) setup for boosted throttles.
However you can look at the VE Table 2 for an idea on AN map. You would need to change rows and columns to suit your motor.
AFR table 1 is a starting afr table you could use, it's pretty rich though.

If you open two instances of TunerStudio, you can have your config going in one.
Then load my msq as a temporary project in the other. Copy across VE table to your config and adjust row/columns.

The engine is on an older beta code but should be fine for tables.

Personally, I would start with SD and lets get the motor running. Once you get the SD tune dialed in, I will be happy to show you how to verify if AN it really required. I have found that just about the only configuration that really requires AN tuning is true ITBs.

If we have go that direction, we can. Search for ITB mode.

No reason then either, just use ITB mode.
Megasquirt is not for use on pollution controlled vehicles. Any advice I give is for off road use only.

Ken, on ITB mode, is Load in the SD field list ITB Load?

"Load" will be whatever the fuel algorithm is set to, so yeah if you set ITB mode, it will be ITB load.

I changed to SD ( from Alpha-N) and it seams to be working well.
Still a few bugs and a pulsing idle but the engine seams to make good power.
Thanks for the help

That's great, good work.
With big cams need to box idle or preferably look at the idle VE stuff.
