TableSwitch function

Post by Oscar98 »

Could someone tell me how the TableSwitch functions?

Do I just put a switch on the wire and short it to ground when the switch is thrown?

I assume that I can create another set of tables for my MS3X/3.57 to use when the switch is activated.

What are guys using the TableSwitch for? Valet limiting (aka; Ferris Bueller's Day off)

Thank you

Dave

Yes. If you use one of the pins that are not part of the 3X card, you really really should build a guard circuit to protect the processor pin. (The 3X card includes the guard circuitry on the input pins)

I use mine to switch between ve1 and ve3 to tune for e85 before installing a flex fuel sensor.

So how do I create a "Valet" calibration?

I was thinking that I could re-calibrate the APS to say 30% being Wide Open Throttle but I am not sure if that calibration would save that way and if it is possible to switch between the two calibrations with the Switch function.

Leave the TPS calibration where it is, but set the VE cells above 20-30% to 0. Zippy the Wonder Valet tries to go WFO, and the engine simply dies.

If you do something like that make sure you use a normal table up to say 30% and then use 30.1% to start with the 0 values. That will avoid having a range where the fueling is not cut but badly lean.

Also, you might want to do the same on the RPM axis with everything normal up to something like 2500 and with 0 at 2501.

Or I guess that I can set the rev limiter at a very low value for that calibration. That way it is still driveable just limited. Don't want it dying if they pull out in traffic etc.

Why would a valet be pulling out into traffic?

I don't think there is a 'swap rev limit' function ...
