Please look at my tune....once more

Post by 2swe »

Please look at my tune, and let me know if you find something strange. I'm going to dyno tomorrow (ignition tuning)... is there is anything I could improve ?

Dropbox link isn't working. Can you post the data log as a forum attachment?

I tried dropbox link and it works, did you try to click at "No thanks, continue to download -" at the bottom ?

the unpacked file is 43MB.

The link doesn't do anything. Try packing the log into a ZIP file.

There isn't that much that jumped out at me, although it can be tricky to sift through a data log of that size without anything specific to look for.

thanks for your patience Matt. I don't have any specific problem it was just an example of the state of my tune.

I have a question:
There are similarly high numbers in top row of my VE table (212-233) between 4800-7500, so engine filling is almost equal in this rpm range .
Am I right to expect flat torque curve in this same rpm range ?

I would say yes, in case you don't have very different AFR targets, or use incorporateAFR if you do. In addition, remember the effect of multiplyMap if used.
My latest VE table matches a dyno graph from a very similiar engine quite nicely (VE top row vs. torque) for the most part.

I tuned the WOT area for the same 12,6 AFR, I use incorporate AFR target, there is around 2kPa pressure drop in MAP through the rev range, so multiply MAP effect is marginal..
I'm asking because I expected flat torque between 4800-redline, but dyno showed torque curve slowly climbing, with max torque at 7000+ rpm.
Later I found the engine lost compression on cyl no.3 - broken ring..
